The Sim - Rotor Rush
Rotor Rush was one of the first drone simulators to be released and has always been a popular choice for beginners and professions alike, and especially for event organisers.
Racing Drones Online uses Rotor Rush because of its long-standing reputation as an excellent simulator and its capacity for growth in terms of features, which are ever expanding. Rotor Rush is also a great choice for event organisers, as it has a great platform for hosting events, and it is straightforward to use.
Without beating about the bush, Rotor Rush is not free to use. You do get a trial version, but once that is finished, you will need to subscribe to retain access. Whilst this may seem unlike other simulators, it's worth it. With events, which are free to join, badges to be won and prizes rewarded, it is a worthwhile investment because more flight time greatly improves your skills ready for real world racing.

We run weekly events on Rotor Rush for Tiny Whoops and Racing 5" DronesHow the events run: Practice Races are designed to hop on Discord load a track in multiplayer and practice, whilst having fun, learning, and improving rates and camera angles. All these practices are to help with improving your skills, whilst learning how rates and camera angles can help or hinder your racing line, and getting ready for the next race.
Best Of Five Events are pretty much what it sounds like. There are five races over 5 weeks, on different tracks. Each race position a pilot ends in will be assigned points, starting from 10 points for first place, and 1 point for 10th place. At the end of the series the overall points are calculated for each pilot and the winners are decided. Sometimes we provide prizes depending on whether we have a sponsor, but most times it will be for badges.
