So, it has been a busy few weeks as we have had to update the stats system to ammodate our new time trial to event.

We have always wanted to be inclusive whether a pilot can attend our live events or not. Because we only run events two to three times a week, the improvement comes with practice practice and then a bit more practice, we wanted to change how our events work.

The breakdown

We will run 2 time trial events each week lasting 7 days.  There are some weeks we will run 3 trials with the X-Class drone, but mostly it will be the 2, one for the Whoop Drone Racing, and another for the 5 Inch Drone racing, events.

Each time trial will finish the day before the live event will take place.  So for the Whoop drone it will start on the Saturday and end on the Saturday. The top 32 pilots will be invited to the live event.  This takes place on the Sunday from 8pm UK time and lasts around 90 minutes. This includes 2 race for placement, and 10 races. The top 4 pilots from the 10 races will take part in a one race knockout round.

The same principle for the 5 inch races, but the the trial will start on the Wednesday and finish the following Wednesday. Again the top 32 pilots will be invited to take part in the live event on the Thursday, again starting at 8pm UK time and lasts around 90 minutes.

The Sim

RotorRush has had some major updates with a new drone which flies more like the 6S drones. It has had work done on the environments, to do with gravity and weights, which makes the sim more realistic.  There are more updates coming this year with a new Whoop Drone, and some new envionrments. Yes, it is a subscription based simulator, but as it's only less than a pint of beer each month, and you have events run each week, it is more than worth the price.  Not only that you will improve your muscle memory which gives you better performance in real life.
